Wednesday is once again upon us, so we present to you Wednesday’s Wild Game: That’s A Spicy Meatball!
PREP TIME– 15 Minutes
ITEMS NEEDED– Cooked Spaghetti Noodles, 40 Atomic Fireballs, Goggles for each Participant, 4 Plates & 4 Cups
GAME TIME– 1-2 Minutes
PARTICIPANTS– 4
INSTRUCTIONS
This is a super simple game to execute. All you will need to do is cook up four one-pound packs of spaghetti noodles (have someone else do it for you to save time) and purchase forty atomic fireballs.
Once you have everything, place four plates loaded with spaghetti on a table where your audience will be able to see the participants. Make sure that the spaghetti is warm (not hot!) and slightly wet (add water if necessary). Place ten atomic fireballs in each pile of spaghetti (have extras just in case) and let them soak in for a few minutes.
When everything is ready, choose four participants to “dig in”. Before they go crazy, they MUST PUT ON GOGGLES to prevent their eyes from being burned. Explain to them that they cannot use their hands and must only dig the “meatballs” out using their mouths.
Once they find an atomic fireball, they simply place it in the cup beside the plate. The one who get them all out first or the one with the most at the end of the time wins.
ALTERNATE VERSION
Instead of having participants bend over a table to dig the fireballs out, choose two additional students per team (teams of three) to hold the participant by the legs upside down as the dig the fireballs out.
This would mean that they have to be eating off the floor, so remember to make sure the players are all elevated (on a platform of some sort) so that everyone can still see.
BONUS TIPS
1. If you can get some cheap bibs, it adds some spice to the event and helps to keep the participants’ clothes a little cleaner.
2. Have a garbage can nearby to clean up and a thin tarp on the floor to catch any of the food that flies off the table. It also doesn’t hurt to have a bottle of water nearby for each contestant!
3. Choose students who you know will give you a reaction- that’s what makes the game fun, and funny!
4. Put some music on in the background. “That’s Amore” by Dean Martin or “Great Balls of Fire” by Jerry Lee Lewis both work great!
