Pillow Fight!

Sometimes the best games are the ones you grew up with.  So it is with a good old-fashioned Pillow Fight. We had an epic pillow fight on one of our missions trips that none of us will ever forget. I bet that some of you will have the same experience as well!

PREP TIME– None

ITEMS NEEDED– SOFT pillows for everyone

GAME TIME– 5 Minutes

PARTICIPANTS– Everyone

INSTRUCTIONS

Start by having everyone bring a SOFT (yes, that’s the second time I’ve emphasized this) pillow. This is one of those games where someone is probably going to get clocked, so don’t make it mandatory. My guess is that most people will want to do it though!

Instead of having a free for all at one time, I recommend letting groups go battle each other (separate by age or gender, or both) and let people watch. It’s one of the rare games that is extremely fun to play, but maybe even better to watch.

If you want to select winners from each grouping, you can put them in a grand finale as well.

BONUS TIP

1. Play a short music clip for each round to add to the atmosphere. It’s also an easy way for them to know when to start and stop.

2. Bring some extra pillows in case someone doesn’t have one.

3. Make sure that you have a large enough space for a pillow fight and remove any items that you want to keep intact.

4. Tie it into your message. You can go with a dream theme (you can have people wear pajamas) or use titles like, “When Life Knocks You Down”, “Watch Your Back”, “Didn’t See That Coming”, “That’s Gonna Leave A Mark”, etc. Be creative and don’t be afraid to make it something you do once a year as a way for your students to invite their friends.
