Will The Real Caption Please Stand Up?

Who doesn’t like a good Instagram or Facebook photo? Okay, maybe  the selfie is a bit overrated, but why not have some fun with it.

Will The Real Caption Please Stand Up? is an attempt to do just that.

PREP TIME– 20-30 Minutes

ITEMS NEEDED– A Screen to View Pictures & Captions

GAME TIME– 10 Minutes

PARTICIPANTS– Individuals or Groups of Any Size

INSTRUCTIONS

Before you begin, take a few minutes to scroll through Instagram & Facebook to find some fun pics with some great quotes.

While you can use any picture, it’s always a great idea to include some people from your group in the mix as well.

All you need to do is put together a quick PowerPoint with the picture and give three options for your group to guess from. One will be the real caption and the other two will be your creation. If you need some help, here’s a little something to get you started: Will The Real Caption Please Stand Up?. The template is fully editable, making it easy to plug and play.

This is where things can get fun, because the game isn’t just about guessing the right caption, it’s about having a good time and creating some laughs with your group.

ALTERNATE VERSION:

To simplify the game, select five quotes and have all five people come up front. Next, throw up the first quote on the screen and have the person/people guess (if you have multiple people, have them write it down so other guessers can not see) who of the five selected people said it, but do not tell them if they are correct. Repeat this throughout the  have the person/people guessing try to correctly. Once you reach the end, reveal the answers and crown your winner!

BONUS TIPS

1. If possible, get some other leaders to help you create captions as well- you will be surprised what they will come up with! You can even email them the pictures a few days before so they have plenty of time to let the creative juices flow.

2. If you’re struggling to find some pictures, follow some well known celebrities on Instagram.
